On September 14th, 2013, Rose Pitonof Swim winners Jaimie Monahan and Elke Hoffman completed the second annual 2.2M Liberty to Freedom Swim from the vicinity of the Statue of Liberty to North Cove Marina near the Freedom Tower in downtown Manhattan.
This year’s Swim was a “victory lap” for the two swimmers in celebration of Rose Pitonof’s inauguration into the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame.
The Liberty to Freedom Swim is dedicated to the freedom of the American people, and to the memory of those that died and served on September 11, 2001.
